Day 34 – Abel Tasman National Park

A lazy and cold morning until we all jumped into a boat around 9.30am. The environment and the landscape here is extremely beautiful. The characteristic of this part of the country in my opinion is given by the contrast of a tropical island with crystal clear water and rainforest and the temperature which is extremely cold like in the mountain. With the boat we managed to see seals, penguins and every sort of birds. We then continued on foot through the rainforest crossing bridges over high creeks and deep vegetation. It was great being in touch with this part of the world and its nature, and at the same time a landscape so different from the one I have witnessed in Australia.
We all walked back to the boat and reached the campsite around 6pm. Quick shower, a good dinner and a nice chat with some red wine in front of the fire.
