Day 35 – Hanmer Springs

The day started early in the morning and around 8am we were already driving away the National ark. Before leaving the park however we planted a little tree as a sign of good faith for the park. We travelled pretty much all day on the bus with many stops on the way for pictures and mini-excursion to see forests, waterfall and lakes. We were attacked by terrible sand-flies which forced me to do a massive washing up of all my clothes because apparently they can leave little eggs on your clothes. We reached the lively town of Hanmer Springs. We had a wonderful residence with a proper five stars cottage on one side of the mountain. Yet, it was pretty hard to find internet, with the only internet place which shut down at 5pm. The town is famous for its spa, and obviously we decided to indulge ourselves into a 1 hour treatment. Dinner was in a local pub; fairly good, but nothing special really. Again, bed quite early since all these little towns they seem to die after 8pm.
